New Rector!

Message from Norma Gardner, your Senior Warden at St. Paul’s Church

We have been preparing for this day for the last year.
Your vestry is very excited to announce the coming of our new rector.
Her name is Rev’d Tambria Lee and she is coming from The Chapel of the Cross in Chapel Hill where she is serving as the Associate Priest.
Tammy, as she prefers to be called, has been a priest for 24 years and has tremendous experience with all facets of parish life, including preaching, pastoral care, working with the younger population, stewardship, and management.
Tammy is very familiar with Carteret County and Beaufort and will be moving here with her husband David and their golden retriever Noah and two cockatiels, Gracie and Squeaker.
Tammy’s first Sunday as our rector will be January 6, 2019.
We ask your prayers for Tammy as she prepares to come to St. Paul’s and we pray that you will give her a huge welcome on January the 6th.

Welcome to St. Paul’s, Beaufort

Welcome to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

We are glad you are visiting our website and hope you will visit us in person soon.  If you are looking for a spiritual home, we welcome you to worship God and grow in grace with us. If you are looking for a temporary place of spiritual rest and fulfillment as you travel on to another destination, you are welcome to spend a day or a month or more with us.

St. Paul’s is part of the Diocese of East Carolina of The Episcopal Church. Our worship services use the 1979 Book of Common Prayer. Our early service at 8am is a quiet service using Rite I. The family service at 10:45 am uses Rite II with music. (From Memorial Day through Labor Day we gather at 10:00 am.) Child care is available from 9:30 am to 12 noon. We offer Sunday school for all ages from 9:30-10:30 am during the school year.

We invite you to walk with us on your spiritual journey.  Wherever that journey takes you, may you know the blessings of God who calls us all in love.

May the Peace of the Lord be always with you.

From Our New Music Director!

Hello, St. Paul’s. I am excited to be your new music director. I have been immersed in church music for the past twenty-two years and it has been a deeply gratifying and fulfilling part of my life. My husband, Mark, is a retired U.S. Navy aviator so my experiences come from many different duty stations, churches and chapels in the United States and in Iceland! I have served as organist and pianist, handbell director and choir director. I have led children, youth and adult choirs in voice and handbells. I enjoy composition and in 2017 had the great privilege of premiering my original TRINITY SUITE in concert at St. Francis by the Sea in Salter Path where I served as music director from 2010 to 2018. I teach private piano lessons to all ages, beginner to advanced. I sing in the Carolina East Singers community choir and in Schola Cantorum, the auditioned choir of the Diocese of East Carolina, whose mission is to preserve the tradition of choral evensong throughout the diocese and beyond. I already know several members of St. Paul’s: some are my piano students, some are fellow choristers, some live in my neighborhood, some went to East Carteret with my husband back in the 70’s, some went to East Carteret with our children Stephanie and Jon from 2009-2013, and some are friends of the Laughton family which goes back generations in the Beaufort community. Coming to St. Paul’s feels like coming home, and I look forward to getting to know the rest of the family.
